Questions about the Schema Generator
What does the Schema Generator do?
It reads one public page and the home page of the same site. Then it writes JSON-LD schema for that page. You get two code blocks: the Global Schema Code for the full site and the entry code for the page.
Where do I paste the code?
Paste the Global Schema Code once, in WordPress at Tools, then A/GEO. Paste the entry code in the A/GEO - Schema and Meta Tags box on the edit screen of the page. The free A/GEO Schema Manager plugin adds both places.
Does the generator make up facts?
No. The generator uses only facts that it finds on the page, on the home page or in your existing schema. If it cannot find a fact, such as a phone number, it leaves the fact out and tells you to add it.
Which schema types can it make?
It makes Organization, LocalBusiness or NGO, WebSite, WebPage, ContactPage, AboutPage, FAQPage, Article, BlogPosting, Product and BreadcrumbList. It picks the types from what it finds on the page.
My site already has schema from an SEO plugin. What do I do?
The generator tells you which schema types the page has now. Do not add the same type twice. Turn off that type in your SEO plugin, or paste only the blocks that are new.
Is the Schema Generator free?
Yes. There is no sign-up. Results are cached for one hour, so a new run on the same page in the same hour shows the same result.
