Why does the playbook start with AI visibility?
Most growth problems show up as a lead problem: too few leads, costly clicks, or leads that do not fit. More buyers now ask an AI tool for a short list before they visit any website. If the answer does not name you, you are not on the list. AI visibility is often the fastest fix, because most of the work changes pages, facts and profiles that you already own.
Too few leads
AI answers name a competitor because its facts are easier to find and check. Workstreams 3, 4 and 5 make your facts easy for AI tools to read.
Clicks cost too much
A buyer who reads your name in an AI answer comes to you without an ad. Workstreams 8, 9 and 10 build the content and proof that AI tools cite.
Nobody knows what works
Each change gets a baseline, a test and a result. Workstreams 1, 14 and 15 connect AI visibility to leads, pipeline and revenue.
What is in the playbook?
89 pages in ten parts. Each workstream has the same parts: outcome, scope, triggers, inputs, procedure, checklist, deliverables, KPIs, escalation triggers and a short example.
| Part | What you get | Page |
|---|---|---|
| How to use this book | The operating stance, platform notes and a five-step maturity ladder. | 4 |
| Operating model | The Check, Fix, Publish, Track loop, roles, a RACI chart and a priority score. | 6 |
| 16 workstreams | Step-by-step procedures from AI visibility measurement to program governance. | 8 |
| Measurement framework | A metric dictionary, a sampling standard and a reporting cadence. | 44 |
| Ninety day field plan | What to do in days 0 to 10, 11 to 30, 31 to 60 and 61 to 90, then each month. | 47 |
| Template library | 29 templates, 15 of them copy-ready: prompt registry, content brief, experiment card and more. | 49 |
| Field checklists | Checks before a baseline, a release, a post, outreach, a report and a handoff. | 65 |
| Operator field guide | One card per workstream: who does each step (agent or person), where records live, and how to scale to a site with 100+ pages. | 67 |
| Glossary | Plain definitions of the terms in the playbook. | 87 |
| Primary sources | Links to the platform rules and standards behind the method. | 89 |

Who is the playbook for?
It is for marketers and marketing engineers who run AI search work: in-house marketers at growing businesses, startups and nonprofits, agency teams, and Forward Deployed Marketing Engineers. A business owner can use the Pick a workstream table to find the work that fits a problem.
What is in the playbook?
The playbook has 89 pages: an operating model, 16 workstreams with step-by-step procedures, a measurement framework, a 90-day field plan, 29 templates, field checklists, an operator field guide, a glossary and a list of primary sources.
How often do you update the playbook?
We update the playbook when AI search platforms change their rules or when our client work shows a better method. Each update gets a version number and a line in the change log on this page. Subscribe to get an email when a new version comes out.
Do I need AI agents to use the playbook?
No. The operator field guide shows which steps an AI agent can do and which steps a person must approve. You can do every step by hand. An agent makes the collection and record work faster on a large site.
Does the playbook guarantee that AI tools cite my business?
No. No one can guarantee a citation or a ranking. The playbook shows how to make your business easier to find, understand, cite and recommend, and how to measure the result.
Can A/GEO run the playbook for my business?
Yes. A/GEO runs the same workstreams for clients. Start with a free AI visibility check, or see our services and the fractional AI Search & Content Growth Marketer.
